I’m an unschooler.
Also: a mother of an unschooler.
Also: a sister, a daughter, and a partner to the best bass player in town.
Also: a cafe owner. Busy, busy.
I like trees and mountains and winding creeks and furry animals.
I like hip little cities, tho I don’t live in one. Visiting them is enough, apparently.
I grew up in the snow belt. Now I live in the midwest. This just sort of happened. I’m still trying to figure it out.
I make art and zines. I mow the yard like a good neighbor. I watch tv. I like Dr. Who. Amelia Pond is my favorite companion.
I write about unschooling because it interests me, and because I have some experience with it, and because I think school is a terribly stressful institution that wreaks a lot of havoc on young lives and families. If you’re looking for alternatives to school, either for yourself or for your kids, it’s probably helpful to you to know that there are many of us out here who are making satisfying lives for ourselves (and our families) without it.
I tend to be an irregular blogger. If you like what I write and don’t want to miss stuff, you might want to subscribe, or follow, or click on the email updates link in the sidebar to get stuff delivered to your inbox.
Life is good.
That’s all.
